Brian Eno Urges Support to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.

A campaign is aiming to send a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort seeks to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely disheartened if it fails to, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”

Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“The song holds a profound significance for a lot of people,” Barghouti explained. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we merit as a people.”

Production History and Featured Artists

The track was produced following a major charity concert held in the autumn. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the piece was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The diverse array of artists featured on Lullaby includes a group of acclaimed names from the industry. All took part in the September show, which managed to collect a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a trio of music creators. The single features a mix of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The team running the project have clarified that their aim is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These proceeds will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a representative commented. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Naturally, the more the merrier. It all goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the area was described as its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of infrastructure described as destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions won't make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is above all raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating that another narrative exists.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the solidarity show will be made accessible to view on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
