The British and French governments have inked a statement of purpose concerning the positioning of troops in the nation in the event a peace deal be made with Moscow, the UK Prime Minister, Starmer, has stated.
Following talks with Ukraine's allies in the French capital, he said that the UK and France would "establish operational bases across Ukraine and construct fortified installations for arms and equipment" to prevent any subsequent attack.
The coalition members also proposed that the United States would assume leadership in overseeing a truce.
Moscow has consistently stated that any foreign troops in Ukraine would be considered a "legitimate target", but has so far not commented on this new development.
The Kremlin's head Vladimir Putin initiated a major offensive of Ukraine in early 2022, and Moscow presently controls approximately 20% of Ukrainian territory.
