The Showrunner Discloses He Has a Plan for How The Apple TV+ Show Will Conclude... For Now.

The acclaimed writer-producer never anticipated that the Apple TV+ show would become a massive hit. “God bless the fans,” he states. “It was unexpected the show being as passionately debated as it is, and it makes me overjoyed.”

As the debut season of the hit sci-fi show wrapping up—and a second season greenlit and underway—the creative team reflected on the fan response and whether it will influence the storyline of Pluribus.

About the Incredible Viewer Reception

Anyone might to get swayed by the widespread acclaim and audience predictions regarding Pluribus. He is making a conscious effort to steer clear of all that.

“It feels like constantly eating something incredibly sweet and being laughing uncontrollably,” he explains. “It's amazing, but I hear about it through word of mouth, and that's intentional. Not once have I looked myself up on the internet, nor do I ever intend to. Not because I don't care. It's a rabbit hole I know I would fall into and then I'd be never leaving the house from the hardware store and I'd be stuck in my living room.”

In spite of trying to stay away, there’s it's impossible to ignore the immensely favorable response to the series. The most practical strategy is to acknowledge it humbly and try not to let it alter the course of the show.

“We make no attempt to change the plot,” says Alison Tatlock. “The narrative we craft is not impacted by audience chatter.”

“We prefer to keep our focus on the work,” Gilligan concludes.

A Pressing Query: Does Vince Gilligan Have a Plan for the Conclusion of Pluribus?

So if Gilligan and his team are not listening by fan response, does that mean they have already decided how Pluribus will finally conclude? In short yes… with some caveats.

“There are some interesting ideas about the ultimate destination,” he states. “yet we stand ready to throw out a solid concept for a more brilliant plan. That has held us in good stead on Better Call Saul and on Breaking Bad even before that. We change course when we find a more perfect path and I expect we'll continue doing that.”

Then again, if all else fails, Gordon Smith has a humorous idea to serve as a last resort.

“My recurring proposal is that it's all in a snow globe, and that we'll zoom out in the finale and that's where they've been all along,” he says humorously, “but nobody's taking me up on that.”

Then again, one could always use the iconic TV endings?

“I want Carol to awaken beside Bob Newhart,” Gilligan says with a smile.

Pluribus can be watched on the streaming service.
