The visionary game developer, who helped create the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California at the age of 55.

His passing was verified by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.

The influential game designer passed away following his car crashed and was engulfed in flames on a highway in Los Angeles on Sunday, as reported by.

"This is a devastating loss, and we stand with Vince's family, those closest to him, and all those touched by his legacy," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
