Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Live coverage includes live text for the weekend matchups on various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard on select stations for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).
It's week six of the NFL season and after recent discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their perfect starts.
Notable during those contests were the number of infractions each committed. The Eagles did so at crucial times so they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this weekend.
However it was positive to observe that Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to have the shortfall and then lead three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the game by four points.
The Broncos boast the top defender in cornerback their star corner. They are first in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, and Denver prevailed in that contest.
They had effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not always sending more than four pass rushers instead they could position two LBs in the 'A' gap before drop them out and send a nickel off the edge.
Early on in the campaign, we said on a program that the Broncos could be this season's surprise contenders. They ended last season well then excelled in continuing that momentum.
Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?
Recently acquired tight end their tight end has stepped up big while recent RB their rusher is a player they believe in. He's currently 5th league-wide for rushing yards (402) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).
I love that the coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.
That shows how Denver represent a team aiming to prioritize the run, since one can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush and keeps you in favourable situations.
It's also benefited quarterback the young passer, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 TDs – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).
Other elite QBs have powerful arms to pass anywhere, but they lack the mobility that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he's so athletic.
His assets are his movement, the capacity to pass while moving, and finding varied release points to make throws when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to deliver precision throws over the middle or over the corner.
As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got a lot of poise in the pocket and is not bothered by extra rushers. He aims to avoid being tackled as much as possible and can throw under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and remains quick to decide.
If you consistently rush it consumes time and makes the opponent to stay in play for longer, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defense has to defend the area vertically side to side. It can be draining.
The quarterback has pushed back at Payton on the sideline at times and I think the coach appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for the coach to coach a rookie QB that is similar to moldable clay. He can really develop him the way he desires to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.
Payton has won a Super Bowl and has passed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. In my opinion the success the Broncos are having offensively is mostly down to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids make him into who he is.
There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to help you during difficult moments and boost confidence.
I believe in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they strong enough to face an elite team at its best? Since that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.
Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're working above average, which is a solid position to hold their division. The key to do is maintain this trajectory.
They excel at leaning into their forte, that is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.
The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they are the sole squad without a win a game.
Ever since the NFL began tracking takeaways in 1933, the Jets are also the first team to go without any turnovers in five outings, which is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator with another team.
The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss by the Jaguars.
Following the upcoming matchup, Denver face a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders before the Chiefs.
Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the West.
It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they meet since Denver {beat|def
